Taken when I was living in Chicago, this photograph was in an exhibition that I held in the city in 2004 called "340 Degree View". The John Hancock Centre can be seen on the left with the every growing number of skyscrapers around it giving the visitor a particular sense of grandeur and awe. The 'lean' of the buildings is created through a wide-angle lens - I like the effect as it adds a dynamic force to the photo, with all the buildings pointing to one point as they reach for the sky - in the same way that I imagine most of their inhabitants are at the same time aiming for the stars.
